Micro-living apartments launched in Cape Town
Cape Town will soon have its first micro-living apartments, following a trend in cities such as Berlin, London, New York, Barcelona and Paris. The 133 micro-units will range from 21m2 studios to 75m2 two-bedroom units. All apartments will feature top-end appliances, smart TVs and uncapped, unshaped high-speed fibre. Construction is set to begin on 1 On Albert in Woodstock in February 2018. Entry-level units are priced from R799,000 to R945,000, including transfer duty.
Dogon Group Properties MD Rob Stefanutto says that in addition to the living units spread over seven floors, the development will feature communal recreational spaces, shops, a food court, laundromat and a heated swimming pool. The 1 On Albert building is on a MyCiti bus route. Award-winning architects Louis Karol designed the development. The interiors are by leading hotel room designer Grant Gillis of Delta Interiors.
